There are many types of rice, but broadly speaking they are categorised by their shape (long or short grain) and colour – white or brown.

White rice has had the fibre-rich outer bran of the grain removed along-with the nutrient-rich germ. As a result, it has a longer shelf life, is quick to cook but has a bland, neutral flavour; nutritionally it has less fibre and protein than the wholegrain equivalent. Brown rice, on the other hand, contains both the bran and germ, making it nutrient- and fibre-rich and retains a nutty flavour.

"ABANGA" PERFUMED LONG GRAIN RICE

Abanga rice (also known as fragrant rice or jasmine rice) is of excellent quality. Abanga rice is mainly planted in northern Ghana, but it can be also imported from Asia.

It is called “fragrant rice” because it smells pleasantly of jasmine when cooked and, unlike many other varieties, has a little taste of its own thanks to a special cultivation method.

The grains are small and well suited for the rice table, as they also belong to the “hard” rice varieties.

"WINI" PERFUMED LONG GRAIN RICE

WINI rice Perfumed Long Grain Jasmine Rice is grown primarily in Thailand , Laos, and southern Vietnam.

It is moist and soft in texture when cooked, with a slightly sweet flavor.

The grains cling and are somewhat sticky when cooked, though less sticky than glutinous rice as it has less amylopectin. It is about three times stickier than American long-grain rice.
